Sometimes, being in a management position at the age of 30 can cause you many great things, always be teaching you stuff in the corporate world. Some may be the good stuff while some can be the rough stuff. (Yes, clearly there are people who are younger than 30 and yet within the management team and who are doing really great, but believe me, sadly it’s not easy when you’re an expat and a Filipino. Or at least based on my experience)
But for one reason or another, regardless your age, never disregard the value of yourself just for the sake of keeping your so-called “designation”. Your self-value is not about the job title you hold. It’s how you are at work.
Being away from home for the past 8 years, having no one from my family with me has taught be a lot in life. From enduring your own physical pain, because you fear the expense of medical procedures or simply because you don’t want to make a big deal out of it. Or those times at work where political games are being played, yet you couldn’t speak up fearing to lose your job. Let’s not forget to mention the fact that you miss being with the family from time to time, after all, family is home.
Enough of the slight, back-story.
Let me share with you a recent learning.
You can show-off your full capacity and talents when you recently join your new company. One way or another, you can never be too sure if you will be appreciated or not. Let’s face it, sometimes, people tend to look into where you are from before they acknowledge the things you have done or will be able to do. In which we can never hide that there are a lot, and I mean a lot that will only rely on where you are from before they determine what you deserve in return of what you have laid down on the table.
True, there’s a million jobs for you out there. It may take some time for you to find what really is for you, but in whatever case, never let go of your own values in life and for yourself. No one will give importance to you in the corporate world unless you, yourself will do so.
I’ve done my fair share of goodbyes to 2016. Now it’s time for a new chapter of life. Hello 2017!!!
We’ve all stumbled and hit the bottom rock over the span of 2016. Hope you’ve decided to get up and give it another try, eventually learnings are meant to be received and every fall.
I’ve decided to start a new this year and I hope you do too. So, I have come across this thing on pinterest about having 30 days to be grateful for something. As I go through the list 30 things to be grateful for in 30 days, I told myself, “I don’t need this list”. Surely enough I don’t. Believe me, you don’t need it too. You only have to decide for yourself. What are the things you can be grateful for in life? Most important question is, what are the things you can be GREAT in life?
Everyday, you can start by being grateful for is having another day to wake up and start a new. Be grateful that you have another day to correct your mistakes yesterday. Learn from every single one of them and do things in a much better way.
On the aspect of being GREAT, decision is yours. Who wouldn’t want to be great on something right? I mean, I do, I want to be a great person to start with. Be a better daughter or a better sister, to be a better friend, colleague or simply be a great ME.
As the new year starts, you don’t have to make a list of the things you want to change within yourself or your perspective in life. You only have to decide to accept yourself and make a better version of you.
It’s a lie to think you’re not good enough… it’s a lie to think that you’re not worth aything… (Nick Vujicic)
One of the few inspiring things I have ever encountered in my life.
So simple yet so powerful. Words from a man I have never met, yet moved a lot in my life.
See, I was never the smartest person in our class back in my school days. Though, YES, i did try everything that I can just to learn the things I know I needed to learn. I was never, even for once, a top scorer to any of our exams at school. Though YES, I did try my very best to answer them all correctly and carefully. I was never the most active person in our class during recitation although I undeniably talk a lot. I mean A LOT.
I was never the best at anything in this world. Definitely not in school, or sports, or any subjects I took.
But then again, they’re all proofs of learning and trying. I have more than once in my life accepted the fact that I wasn’t good at anything. Only after listening to Mr Nick Vujicic was I able to stop that unlawful belief about myself. Then started a new belief, that someday I will be able to do anything I want in my life, may I be good at it or not won’t matter anymore. Just as long as I let myself cease that moments where I will undeniably learn, fulfill and claim that I am living my life to the fullest.
when I first read this it truly changed how I feel.
then I read again. wrote my opinions and now I want to share this with all of you.
this is the pattern.
Happy reading 🙂
Take charge of your life by beginning something you have always wanted to do. If your goal seems overwhelmming, start small
tell yourself everyday, that God gave you the life that you have right now because He knows you’d be a great captain of his own creation. That you should be responsible to every single things that you do towards your day, yourself and to others
your imagination has no bounderies dreaming about something is the first step toward achieving it
Our minds create things that make us smile, make us happy for a while. better yet, it builds the eagerness that I need everyday in everyway. Eagerness that triggers me to perform well and at my best.
laughter is a direct route to the soul. It broadens your perspective, keeps you healthy, and makes an unbearable situation easier to deal with
main reason why a lot of people rarely see me frown or sad, cause I believe that through laughter and through my smile, I get myself inspired and end up telling myself, “caessie, everything’s going to be fine. in time”. I may not know where I get the strength to smile despite going through some things in my life, but I know why I do, because I have my FAMILY, my FRIENDS and I have GOD.
set your mind to predict success. Tell yourself you WILL succeed at whatever your doing at the moment
I am not the best on the things that I do, but I know just giving every single shot that I have, my full effort, I’ll get there. despite failures I know that at the end of the day, as long as I stand up in every fall, I’ll get ther well equiped
allow yourself to grow by exposing your vulnerability and insecurity dont live strictly inside your comfort zone dont always play it safe
Never settle on the things you just know, or the things you’re good at. Cause you’ll NEVER get to walk further in life if you never allow yourself to discover much more about yourself and your capabilities.
we can always find something that can always be done and we forget how to have fun. make conscious effort to take time off- youll feel refreshed and able to think more clearly afterwards
I know that the best way for us to learn aside from learning from our mistakes, is enjoy the things that you do. no matter how old we get, still, the right to have fun and to enjoy is ours. We can always be a child in heart from time to time.
being paralyzed by indecision is worse than making the wrong decision. you cant grow if you dont trust your inner voice
Definitely a MUST for ourselves in terms of everything in LIFE. before you get to trust others have YOURSELF TRUST YOURSELF. Others will just have to follow. because how we treat ourselves are the reflection of how we want to be treated by others.
try listening to the other persons point of view first, without being preoccupied or distracted. youll really hear what is being said and the other person is more likely to pay attention to your view
have not only your ears to hear each word but a heart to feel each emotion. The best listener is the heart and mind than ears alone.
creativity maintains the balance in our lives. The more we use our creativity the more it develops
relationships are what pull us through the hard times, and make the good times meaningful. Take the time to nurture the connections that uplift you
we’ll meet so many people in our lives, and as the years go by, some will stay a little longer than the others but surely you will all go different directions for some time. And when you meet once again, you’d recognize some of them easily with how they look but some, you’ll recognize because your heart tells you that, that particular person/ people were and still important to you.
humans need touch to survive and thrive. dont forget to hug your loved ones. Pay your friends on the back literally and figuratively
a simple act of care, concern and kindness towards other people doesn’t make you less of a strong person. We must all learn to show how we want to help others physically mentally and most of all, emotionally.
forgiveness is life-giving because it puts you in charge you become empowered
No person has the right NOT to forgive. Everything in life ends in forgiveness as well. It’s God’s forgiveness.
prayer is asking god to transform the situation and become the heart of your life. Take time each day to nurture this connection
God is the greatest shield we have in this world. I rarely go for confessions, literally, but I never fail to ask God for forgiveness because I know I did some things that offended Him as my Creator, Father, and as my God.
We may have so much in life, but at the end of the day, when your time is up, it’s only God, whom we can only have as we enter the gate of heaven.
hope is the knowledge that even in the worst of times we can triumph over hardship and sorrow and grow in spirit hope is what sustains humanity
Hope is far way better than just wishing. HOPING is for those people who does something to achieve their hopes. while WISHING is for those people who are happy enough in just staring on what they wanted to have or wanted to be.
we cant always coose our circumstances but we can choose our attitudes towards them
we are not meant to have everything no matter how rich or poor we are. learning to choose is learning how to decide for ourselves and ending up growing as a reponsible decision maker. Although sometimes we tend to make things hard in choosing though sometimes it’s just between the RIGHT and the WRONG.
admire the good in yourself and in those around you
Appreciating one self is appreciating God. He created you as you are. We tend to complain than to appreciate like how dark our skin colors are or how big our noses are. but you see, you are fortunate to have those, cause there are people out there lacking part of their body yet they manage to live on their lives.
it is not right to tell yourself that you’re worthless. cause every single person has a worth in God’s beautiful creation.
happiness involves giving freely to others and not necessarily wanting something in return
GIVING doesn’t mean you’d receive something back. Giving comes from the heart, giving out the things we no longer need. Giving the things in excess of ours. But most importantly, giving others the love and care they need.
reading removes boundaries
We’re not suppose to know everything. I know that. But reading makes us know the things we need to know. that’ll make us survive. that will make us grow as a person.
words are freedom words are power
one of the things I believe in, in that the best listener to whatever it is that I want to say in my PAPER and PEN. It won’t stop you from talking, won’t object to your arguements and most of all, will tolerate every single thought there is on your mind.
avoid doing something just because everyone thinks you should. Give yourself permission to relax
Since I was in college, I tend to be absent the whole day every birthday that I get to celebrate. What I do, is that I order the largest size of pizza for myself and buy a ticket of different movies during the day in each of the cinemas. I get to relax, and I get to tell myself, someday, I won’t be able to do these kinds of stuff so might as well do it now.
